Michael was born and raised in Buckinghamshire, England. He moved away from his home town of Milton Keynes in 2000 to study theatre and film at Leeds University. After graduating with a degree in Theatre and Dramaturgy, he worked in the British film and television industry for almost a decade. During that time he was involved with many TV programmes and made several independent films.
After deciding to move to Tallinn with his Estonian wife, Michael retrained to be an English teacher, was awarded a Cambridge CELTA, and has been teaching at International House since 2013.
In his spare time, Michael enjoys taking portraits with his old 35mm film camera, reading literature from around the world -as well as writing his own stories, listening to a wide-variety of music, and watching films and television dramas.
Michael, his wife, and his son, enjoy the company of a cat and guinea pigs in their Tallinn flat - though they try to keep them in separate rooms!
